What is Ragging?

Ragging refers to any act of physical or mental abuse, bullying, or harassment of students, especially newcomers, in educational institutions. It is a punishable offense and has severe consequences for both the victim and the perpetrator.

Legal Consequences of Ragging

According to the Anti-Ragging Law and the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, any student found guilty of ragging can face:
✅ Expulsion from the institution
✅ Suspension from classes
✅ Debarment from examinations and placements
✅ Fines or imprisonment as per legal provisions

Prevent ragging in the college and hostel premises.
Investigate complaints and take strict disciplinary action.

✅ Maintain a helpline/email for confidential reporting of ragging incidents.
